It looks like I pulled a Mike Tyson on the 30 previews in 30 days, as I bit off more than I could chew.

I am still working diligently every night to provide the same quality for every preview. My biggest mistake was not factoring in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics which moved the schedule up 10 days to Oct. 1st.
I will complete all 30 through the first month of the season. I plan to continue to write for dobber, goaliepost and Eyes on the Prize as well as some new and old features. Be patient, as right now I am a lone wolf, searching for members for my wolfpack.
Look for the Flames and Canucks over the next 3 days, followed by a lull as I am away for a wedding. For all those returning, welcome back. For all those who are new, welcome, I hope you stick around.

Outstanding work that puts the 'experts' to shame. One observation, though - you suggest that Martin is underrated as an offensive coach, but the same sata and rationale could be used to argue that he is an OVERrated defensive coach - and thus that we should be careful about expecting Carey Price to be one of the NHL's better protected goalies. Just a thought.
Thanks
There is no doubt that he is an overrated defensive coach. I think Price will be better insulated because of the talent level, but he won't be propped up,
You know, for a Habs fan you do pretty well reviewing the Leafs! I was impressed with your analysis.
I'm trying to temper my expectations on the 2009 squad in general, but particularly Tlusty and Gustavsson.
I don't see playoffs this year, but i think when the cap shrinks the Leafs will be poised to strike and use all their space to 'help' teams in exchange for picks and prospects.
Chris...this is crazy. Where is the donation button? Also, the updates aren't coming up on an RSS feed, just to let you know.
First of all, great job. I gotta ask about something though.
'Ken Holland has a philosophy that there are 6-7 great goaltenders in the NHL. Due to the evolution of the butterfly, the rest are interchangeable with their success dependent upon their team system.'
Brodeur, Lundqvist and Luongo are obvious. Also, you already mentioned Ward and Miller. Who else do you think is in that category? Vokoun? Fleury? Backstrom?
Thanks Pahlsson26.
I still haven't identified the top 6 or 7.
It is a constant quest. I have them organized in tiers.
Tier One - players who I believe are in the guarantee category.
Roberto Luongo
Cam Ward
Ryan Miller
Tier Two - players who I believe may be there, but because they have benefited from a system there whole career, it is tough to tell.
Henrik Lundqvist
Niklas Backstrom
Martin Brodeur (Last year I would have had Brodeur in this top tier, but Clemmenson's success leads me to believe that Brodeur has slipped, but nobody has really noticed because he played 70+ games per year in a defensive system. There was no comparable)
Tomas Vokoun (Vokoun left a team that has just produced three straight seasons of quality goaltending from 3 different goaltenders. In Florida he has entered a situation where Peter Doboer is the coach. One look at his outstanding defensive commitment in the OHL shows where this is going).
Tier 3 - Young Goaltenders with the potential for Tier 1, but are likely to or have faced immaturity hiccups on the way.
Steve Mason
Carey Price
Simeon Varlamov
Marc Andre Fleury
Jonas HIller
Tier 4 - Goaltenders who are heavily reliant on their system and statistically regress when removed from their happy place.
Tim Thomas
Chris Osgood
Miikka Kipprusoff
Evgeni Nabokov
Marty Turco
As the season progresses I will continue to dive into the question. Will Lundqvist's numbers go up? Tortorella is not exactly a defensive mastermind. Are the Wild going to renew their identity, or change it? How will it expose Backstrom? Will Kipprusoff return to the land of the stud playing behind the trees and Brent Sutter's stifling defensive commitment? Will Turco regress even more under Crawford's pourous defensive history?
Tons of questions that at some point will be addressed here with tons of answers.
Your projections are way to conservative... Grow some balls and take a shot on some point totals as opposed to playing it safe and going with statistics to compile a safe average.
Boring!

Maybe if you read the site and the post where I said that I don't believe in projections AND myself called out the projections as conservative, you wouldn't waste others time with your redundant two cents.
If you want to insult, please have the imagination and insight to call me out on something I have not already done myself.
Thanks for all your hard work! Was wondering, have you compiled all the statistics, projections, etc already? Or do them a team at a time?
If you have, is there any way you could post the raw stuff ahead of time, for those of us who draft before the end of the month? Or if not, tell us what projections you're averaging so we can complete them ourselves? (since everything else (quarterly, historic stats) is availble already)
Thanks again!
I will attempt to get the projections up by the end of this weekend for your drafts.
Thanks again for the awesome work. Any progress on the projections? Only asking cause my draft is this upcoming weekend. =)
awesome work man! hit the CBJ preview spot on I think.
